DURHAM FRINGE 2021

After the long Covid break, this year YC are back and will be performing two shows at the first ever Durham Fringe Festival this Summer.

The only thing the two productions we are doing have in common is their success with an audience. The Lucky Durhams is a hard hitting play set in the trenches of the Somme, while Come to the Cabaret is an exploration of musical theatre's more risqué elements. The polarity between these two productions highlights the strength and diversity of our group, something we can't wait to bring back to our audience.

ABOUT YC

Youth Connection Theatre Company, based in Chester-le-Street, County Durham, has just celebrated its 35th anniversary, and looks back on these years as a triumph of award-winning productions, concerts, and appearances in both local and professional venues. These include the Gala Theatre Durham, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the National Theatre in London. Further afield, we have also performed in tours of France, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and Russia.

OUR PERFORMANCES

Youth Connection has earned its positive reputation because of our dedication, commitment and drive towards producing a professional level of performance in everything we do. We have a large following who attend our theatrical productions, as well as a large pool of groups who book us for private functions. With one or two "big shows" each year, an annual Winter Concert and on average one private performance every month, we certainly keep ourselves busy!

Theatrical Productions

Though we enjoy all the projects we undertake, our favourite moments come from our full productions. We usually put on one or two big productions each year, which are currently performed at Park View Community Theatre, Chester-le-Street. Sign up to our mailing list below to keep in the know about our next production!

Private Function Performances

Between our big productions, we also perform at private functions and charity events. Some of the groups we regularly perform for include the Rotary Club, Women's Institute and the Masons.
